No visit to the Lake Erie Islands would be complete without a visit to the Ferguson Gallery in Marblehead, Ohio.  The eight thousand square feet facility is brimming with a fabulous array of art, antiques, jewelry, and more.

It is common to see the owner, Cary Ferguson creating a piece of art glass or doing an oil painting.   Ferguson’s love of the region is evident in his latest series of oil paintings which focus on all the Lake Erie Islands in our region.  One of my favorites is the colorful exciting Cedar Point rendition, it almost shouts of fun with the use of bright colors. Boating is a vital part of our region, especially the Lyman--which by the way I have a classic  15 ft built in 1963 in nearby Sandusky, Ohio. During the season, a person can watch Cary and his son  blowing glass from the “glassed in” studio.  You can even join them, for a nominal fee.

Ferguson’s work can be found in many corporate and private collections including: the Owens Corning Museum of Glass in Toledo, The IX Center in Cleveland, and the Ronald McDonald House in Chicago.

Contact the gallery at (419) 734-0600 or go to www.FergusonGallery.com for more information.
