Nature & Recreation II: Bahia Cabana

A Hidden Gem On A Beautiful Beach In Fort Lauderdale, Florida

  • BahiaCabana

A visitor can easily miss this historic watering hole/restaurant/resort but not by water.  Many of the huge yachts and tourist boats breeze by with a super vision of one of the real fun spots in the Fort Lauderdale Atlantic Ocean beach strip. To many of the natives and tourists it may be the friendliest, warmest, yet most “laidback” resorts in Southwest Florida.  You get a feel of Key West with all the palm trees and everything close by including: a hot tub, a beautiful pool, 2 bars, and a menu at the restaurant that is tough to beat!  I think I like the place because it reminds me of not only Key West, but Folly Beach, South Carolina, and Put-in-Bay on South Bass Island in the Western Basin of Lake Erie.

This was my third year to visit this “hidden gem” to relax, enjoy “snowbird” friends, and to be cordially served some of the best food on any beach in Florida.  You can enjoy all of these amenities while watching the “coming and going” of some of the most beautiful international yachts porting in Fort Lauderdale.

The Flan family have been the operating management of this fine resort, losing their popular patriarch in 2013. I met Pat Flanin three years ago and I share the loss of the missing spirit of his presence.
