Holy Toledo II: Forresters on the River

A Family Affair Docks on the East Side of the Maumee River

  • Forresters

It is an old spot (the Navy Bistro) with a new flair sprinkled with a family’s love for sharing top quality food, super service, and a view that will “shiver your timbers”!! The newest restaurant at the “Docks” is getting plenty of attention as part of an incredible menu lunch and dinner opportunity in downtown actually on the east side of the Maumee River. Business personnel, boaters, and just plain visitors will be pleasantly pleased with this new venue launching some fantastic attractions on the menu as well as on the entertainment scene.

The McQueary’s are “old hands” in the restaurant business. The Golden Jade and the Olive Garden are just a few of the places they have had their experience involved. A more “laid back attitude” permeates the decor of this popular eatery. The entire West wall is all window--displaying an incredible view of downtown Toledo and the traffic on the historic Maumee River. A possible sunset is a personal highlight I like to enjoy!

The galley serves up some fine steaks, seafood dishes, chicken, and vegetarian fare. Two dinners could have an appetizer, a glass of wine, and an entrée for less than $50. Chef Brian Joyce, a Toledoan, is the head chef. The wine and martini bar will be open this Spring and a huge 3.000 square foot banquet facility is available for groups to enjoy the scrumptious food and unique decor. Be sure you plan on enjoying an exciting beach volleyball game right outside Forrester’s door or it’s Tiki Bar right on the outdoor patio by the Maumee. Call 419-691-2626 for reservations.
